"What began at the end of 2020 as a handy idea for themselves has grown into a service with around ten thousand paying users across the Netherlands. "Many property search websites are scams. That's why we try to be as transparent as possible: if someone isn't satisfied, they get their money back. Fortunately, we mostly receive positive feedback from people who, after endlessly searching, managed to find a rental home through our service in a short amount of time."

"Websites that copy rental listings from elsewhere are a major problem in Amsterdam," says Jeroen van der Es. He founded the platform Stekkies partly for this reason. It monitors all estate agents' websites and instantly sends available listings to house hunters. "Because the demand is so high—especially in Amsterdam—agents often only post their rental properties on their own websites, no longer on the larger platforms. You have to act very fast; sometimes something is only online for fifteen minutes," he explains. "Otherwise, they get far too many responses."
